The seemingly empathetic and kind-looking teacher manipulates their parents through her students for the purpose of personal enrichment, whether in the form of material benefits or even a vision of a love affair. Not only for fear of the benefit of their beloved children, most parents are subject to a primary school class teacher and provide her with various services, gifts and other attention. However, there are three families who decide to defy the teacher and try to reverse the current situation together with the school principal at a conspiratorial class meeting. The story of a captivating and very current film about the power of human character inspired by a real event takes place in the early 80’s, but it is a universal story that could take place anywhere and at any time, because corruption as well as pettiness and calculation rule the world without cessation.
The author duo, screenwriter Petr Jarchovský and director Jan Hřebejk, teamed up for the first time with the young production company Offside Men (Ondřej Zima and Jan Prušinovský), which has the series The Fourth Star and the film Cobras and Snakes. Although the film was originally intended as a purely Czech project, it was eventually created as a Slovak-Czech co-production with the main producer PubRes (Zuzana Mistríková and Ľubica Orechovská). The filmmakers managed to cast unseen but excellent actors on the screen (Zuzana Mauréry, Csongor Kassai, Peter Bebjak, Martin Havelka, Ondřej Malý and others) and eventually shot the film in the Slovak capital.
